Have you ever heard of Kollaboration? If not, check out their site because Dave and The Cousins were congratulated today for making it to the Top 8 finalists. Although Kollaboration is a competition empowering Asian Americans in the entertainment industry, music knows no boundaries of race or color. If you've seen us perform, then you really know we mean it - us Asian folkers.

It's been awhile, friends.  We've been working hard in the studio this month, trying to get the EP just right.  Late night recordings mean a little mental instability.  Here's a recording of us having fun with Over the Rainbow in an extremely tired state.

Studio Time Saturday

Perfect weather to spend some time in the recording studio. Cold, windy and rainy. Our first EP is currently underway, and we have some preliminary news to share... it has to do with a four-letter word that starts with F. If you were thinking, FREE, you were right!! Oh, you dirty minds.

As you can see, we will be spending much time in March trying to get our EP in motion. Actually, I'm sitting in the studio right now listening to some of our current mixes. Let us know if you can join us any of these days.

About a month ago, we were asked by Jonathan Young and Mystery Inc Entertainment to be featured briefly in their music video. So, in the middle of one of our evening performances on Third St, if you saw a guy dancing for tips in front of our band - that was Jonathan and his crew. We think the music video turned out great. Kids Love our Music

Is it the simple melodies or the upbeat nature of our songs? For some reason, kids really seem to dig our music. Here are a couple photos sent in by this little fan's parents. They were taken this past Saturday during our morning set on Third St near the Santa Monica Farmer's Market. This song's dedicated to you Jada.

Performance Pics

We've been wanting to get someone to take some shots of us in action on 3rd St. It just so happened that last Saturday, our new friend Johnny Villanueva took shots of us randomly as a spectator. We think they turned out great!

Feels Like Spring

We've got a spring in our step. The weather was better than we could ask for and the sun brought out a huge crowd of people yesterday in Santa Monica. Dave and The Cousins will be taking a break from Third Street next week and will be scoping out some Farmer's Markets in the OC. But we will be back to busking and sharing our sounds with you in a couple weeks. FYI, our new EP will include "Grandma Used to Say" which seems to be a huge favorite.
